Hindu tradition suggests timing such commitments to days when the Panchang supports clarity, fairness, and long-term stability. The Nakshatras most favorable for contract signing are those associated with intelligence, communication, and reliable partnerships: Pushya, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Anuradha, and Shravana. Hasta is particularly relevant — its name means "hand," directly connected to the act of signing. Swati, associated with independence and fair dealing, is excellent for business agreements. Mercury-influenced days (Wednesday) are considered optimal for documentation and contracts, as Mercury governs communication, commerce, and written agreements. Thursday (Jupiter) supports fair dealing and ethical commitments. Friday is also favorable. The Tithi should be from the standard auspicious set. Avoid Rikta tithis, as these "empty" days may lead to contracts that don't deliver their promised value. Shukla Paksha is preferred for agreements you want to grow and expand over time. A practical note: even if you receive a contract for review on an unfavorable day, the key timing event is when you actually sign — the act of putting pen to paper. You can review, negotiate, and finalize terms on any day, then choose an auspicious moment for the actual signing.
